The Nunnamaker Memorial Award is presented in honor of A. J. Nunnamaker and Lulu J. Nunnamaker and consists of a plaque which is awarded for the highest class scholarship.

Dr. George M. Sleichter Award is presented to the student who displays the second highest academic standing in the class.

CCMS Honor Society is an honor society sponsored by CCMS for scholastic achievement for the highest 10% of the class. Citizenship and ethical principles may also be considered in awarding of Honor Society membership.

The Charles O. Dhonau Memorial Embalming Award consists of a $100.00 savings bond, a plaque, and the recipient's name is placed on a plaque on the wall of the lobby. It is presented to the student or students who have displayed the highest excellence in embalming technology as judged by the head of the department and confirmed by the faculty.

The Russler Memorial Award in memory of A.J. Russler consists of a plaque which is awarded for the highest standing in the Department of Applied Embalming as evaluated by the Director of the Department and approved by the faculty.

The Ohio Embalmers Association Award consists of a $50.00 savings bond, a plaque, and is awarded for excellence in the combined theory and practice of embalming. An individual plaque is given and the recipient's name is placed on a Master Plaque at the college.

The Bowsher Plaque in memory of Ivan Pier Bowsher is awarded for outstanding skill in Restorative Art upon recommendation of the department staff and approval of the faculty.

The Delaine L. Beaver Award consists of a plaque and the name of the recipient is also placed upon a plaque on the wall of the lobby adjacent to the Restorative Art Department. It is awarded for highest artistic competence jointly by the College and the Kraeer Funeral Home of Pompano Beach, Florida.

The Homer D. Leffler Award for Funeral Directing-Counseling is awarded in recognition of outstanding potential for excellence in ethical and compassionate service, community relations, and personal and professional development.

James C. Lyerly Award is presented by the Lyerly Funeral Home, Salisbury, N.C. in memory of James C. Lyerly who was a 1948 graduate of CCMS. The award is based upon potential for expertise in business management areas.

Tri-Gard Scholarship This award is given by the Tri-Gard Vault Company. It is presented to a student based on high scholarship and knowledge of the burial vault industry. The award consists of a certificate of achievement and a check for $250.00.

The Ohio Funeral Directors Association Award is presented to the student who has outstanding leadership potential. It consists of a plaque and a scholarship to the National Foundation of Funeral Service.

Doric Vault Scholarship . This $250.00 award is given by Doric Vault Company to a student who displays knowledge of the burial vault industry.

In addition, each graduate receives the following after graduation:

  1. Degree
    • A Cum Laude ribbon is added for cumulative grades of 3.50-3.69
    • A Magna Cum Laude ribbon is added for grades of 3.70-3.84
    • A Summa Cum Laude ribbon is added for grades of 3.85-4.0
