Notification of Admission Decisions
Admission decisions are made on a rolling basis. A waiting list is established to fill seats left open by applicants deferring to another starting semester. Students enter as part of a cohort and progress through the program completing degrees in three semesters for the AAS and four semesters for the BMS. Acceptances are limited by our seating capacity in laboratory courses.
An applicant will be accepted if meeting the above stated criteria. Applicants who are still enrolled in prerequisite courses will be accepted provisionally based upon successful completion of the outstanding prerequisites.
In response to their applications, students receive a letter of Acceptance or Provisional Acceptance via email.
Upon acceptance, applicants are required to pay a nonrefundable $250 confirmation fee by the date listed in their acceptance letters. This payment assures the applicant of a place in the class and is considered as evidence of good faith that he/she will attend. Upon enrollment, the confirmation fee will be applied to their tuition charge. If the student fails to enroll, the deposit is forfeited.
Student Enrollment Forms
Following payment of the confirmation fee, applicants are given access to the Student Enrollment Guide, which contains enrollment forms and information about funeral home housing and employment. Applicants are to complete and submit enrollment forms prior to attending Orientation. These include medical forms completed by their physician documenting specific inoculations have been received. This is for our students’ protection while participating in laboratory courses.
Deferred Acceptance Policy
An applicant who has submitted the required $250 confirmation fee may request a deferred acceptance to a future enrollment term. All deferral requests should be made in writing as soon as possible after acceptance. If the deferment is granted, the student is assured a place in the desired entering class. If the student fails to enroll, the deposit is forfeited.
If an applicant makes a second request for deferred acceptance after the first request has been granted, a second confirmation fee will be required. Both deposits will be credited to the student’s account upon entrance into CCMS. If the student fails to enroll, both deposits are forfeited.
