Before Applying

Understand our prerequisites 

Applicants need to complete general education credits at an accredited college/university prior to being admitted to CCMS.  Read more about our prerequisites.

Know your state licensing requirements 

Review the educational and licensing requirements of the state board in which you intend to obtain licensure to ensure all requirements are met.

Register with your state board if applicable

There are a few states which require a student register with the board before entering CCMS. Those states are identified in the following state board listing. Contact your state board for assistance.

Be aware of our medical requirements

Students are required to complete a number of inoculations and tests before the first day of class (you may apply prior to beginning inoculations/tests). You will receive more information upon acceptance.

  • Hepatitis B Series inoculation – begin series 6 months prior to program entrance
  • Tuberculosis test- within 6 months prior to program entrance
  • Chest X-Ray – before 1st day of class
  • Tetanus Booster/Inoculation – within 5 years prior to program entrance

English language requirement 

Applicants whose first language is not English must submit an official Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL).The testing and results process can take up to three months, therefore those needing to meet this requirement are advised to register and take the test as soon as possible. Registration is completed at TOEFL through Educational Testing Services (ETS). To get a schedule or to register for a test, please visit the TOEFL website.  Applicants who have attended a school where the primary language of instruction is English can have this requirement waived.

Have your official transcript(s) sent to CCMS

Applicants should request official transcripts from the Registrar of all colleges previously attended. There is a section in the Application to document from which institutions CCMS will receive transcripts.  Your application will not be considered complete until CCMS has received your transcript(s). Official transcripts are to be remitted in a sealed envelope issued by your college(s) Registrar to the CCMS Director of Admissions, 645 W. North Bend Rd., Cincinnati, OH 45224. As official transcripts are received, they are included in your application file for audit review.

Gather items/info you’ll need to complete the online application

Note: effective 11-17-16, there is no charge to apply. 

When filling out the application, you will need to have several items at hand:

  • Driver’s license OR government-issued photo ID
  • Credit hours or degree earned for previous colleges/universities

In addition, you will have the option to upload electronic copies of several documents. If you do not have an electronic copy of the following documents, you will need to provide a physical copy before Orientation.

  • Driver’s license OR government-issued photo ID
  • Name change documentation (if applicable)
  • Disability accommodation documentation (if applicable)
  • Veterans – DD214 form (if applicable)
