How do I find out what my state licensing requirements are?
The National Funeral Directors Association compiles licensing requirements for all 50 states.

What degree programs do you offer?
We offer two degree programs – the Associate of Applied Science (A.A.S.) and the Bachelor of Mortuary Science (B.M.S.). Read more about degree programs.

Can I enter CCMS right out of high school?
No, you’ll have to take at least 30 credit hours at a regionally accredited college or university before enrolling in CCMS. Learn more about our prerequisites.

What prerequisites do I have to complete before enrolling?
Applicants must have taken at least 30 credit hours at a regionally accredited college or university before enrolling in CCMS. It is to your advantage to take classes in the sciences, as well as social science and business courses. For more information, see prerequisites and our Transfer Credit Worksheet.

Can the Admissions Director look at my transcript(s) to see how close I am to meeting prerequisites?
Absolutely! Simply complete the Audit Request form (online or print). See Readiness Check for more information. Effective 11-17-16, there is no charge for an Audit Request.

How do I apply?
Review the Application Process section of our website for detailed information. When you are ready to apply, you may apply online or print the paper application. Effective 11-17-16, there is no charge to apply.

How do I find out if my college / university is regionally accredited?
You’ll need to either contact your college / university or check with the appropriate accrediting agency. Our Admissions Director and College Transfer Specialist are happy to assist you with this.

Are there any colleges / universities that CCMS would recommend?
Although we can’t recommend any particular school, we have developed “college transfer agreements” with many colleges / universities. The advantage of attending one of these schools is that your coursework will be tailored to meet our prerequisites. Learn more about college transfer agreements.

When do you accept applications?
We accept applications year-round.

When can I enroll in classes?
New cohorts start each Spring (January) and Fall (August). See the Enrollment Calendar for more information.

Is there an application fee?
No. Effective 11-17-16, there is no application fee.

What kind of scholarships are available?
CCMS offers the Academic Excellence Scholarship to new students. Visit our Financial Aid page for more info.

Do you offer on-campus housing?
We do not offer on-campus housing, but we do offer dormitory-style housing to students through an arrangement with Mount St. Joseph University. See Housing for more information.

Can I visit CCMS?
Definitely! We would love to meet you. We offer several Open Houses each year, but if they don’t jive with your schedule you can always request a one-on-one visit.
