Required experience (if any):
At least two years of work experience as a funeral director and embalmer making funeral arrangements, conducting funerals, and embalming a variety of cases
Required skills (if any):
Skilled in restorative art techniques
Valid state-issued driver’s license in good standing with an acceptable driving record
Proficient computer skills in MS Office Outlook and Word
Strong organizational skills to include time management
Excellent oral communication skills in-person and over-the-phone including the ability to effectively communicate with customers, community leaders, clergy, and bereaved families
Excellent written communication including attention to detail and follow-through
Able to work on various tasks simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail
Able to safely operate a company vehicle with a valid state-issued driver’s license
Able to move, push and pull heavy weighted items up to 150 lbs. in a safe manner
Able to stand for two (2) or more hours without rest
Job responsibilities:
Receive and transfer decedents to our care center
Embalm, dress, and prepare decedents for viewing
Make at-need and pre-planning arrangements with families
Ensure proper paperwork, including permits and certificates, are completed in a timely, efficient manner following relevant laws and regulations
Conduct funeral services with dignity and attentive respect for families being served
Follow up post-funeral with families served providing for aftercare needs
Continuously provide Posey CARES service as defined in employee guidebook
Demonstrate a positive attitude and harassment-free working environment
Complete all required continuing education as defined by state licensing agencies
Model commitment to community through participation in community events, groups and organizations and other community relationships
Maintain a flexible attitude demonstrating willingness to carry out additional projects/duties as assigned including daily cleaning assignments and facility care
