Job responsibilities:
The primary role of a transfer technician is to transport decedents into the funeral home’s care shortly after the death has occurred. We partner with Hospice organizations, hospitals, coroners’ offices, and nursing homes to make the transition of a loved one, as smooth as possible.
Transfer Technicians will receive full training on the best practices for transferring loved one’s into our care, how to use the cot, what appropriate personal protective equipment should be used, and what to communicate to families on the transfer. We will provide on the job training and support so you can gain confidence in your new skillset.
Transfer Technicians should be able to lift 50 to 75 LBS independently. Most transfers you will perform will have help and support from the organization where the decedent is located or a second teammate if the transfer is at a home.
Transfer Technicians should be able to pass a drug screen, background check, have a valid driver’s license, be comfortable operating a van, and be able to communicate with the public and families we serve.
