Required experience (if any):
Current Kentucky Funeral Director and Embalmer License (or ability to obtain reciprocity). Valid driver's license Graduate of an accredited mortuary science program. Ability to perform all aspects of funeral directing and embalming. Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a compassionate and professional demeanor. Ability to work effectively with grieving families while maintaining confidentiality. Excellent organizational and time-management skills. Ability to handle multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment. Knowledge of state and federal funeral service regulations. Availability for on-call, evening, weekend, and holiday rotations as needed.
Required skills (if any):
Embalming Experience with funeral home management Strong attention to detail in preparation, documentation, and service coordination. Ability to assist with removals, transfers, and physical aspects of funeral service. Team-oriented mindset with a willingness to assist in all areas of funeral home operations. Experience arranging and directing funerals, memorial services, and visitations.
Job responsibilities:
Meet with families to arrange funeral, memorial, cremation, and burial services. Guide families through all aspects of the funeral planning process with compassion and professionalism. Prepare and complete all necessary legal documents, permits, and death certificates. Perform embalming, restorative art, dressing, casketing, and other preparation room duties. Coordinate and direct visitations, funerals, memorial services, and graveside services. Conduct removals and transfers from residences, hospitals, nursing facilities, and medical examiner offices. Communicate with clergy, cemeteries, crematories, florists, and other service providers to ensure seamless services. Maintain compliance with all state and federal regulations related to funeral service. Assist with aftercare services and provide resources to families as needed. Maintain preparation room, vehicles, and equipment in a clean and professional condition. Participate in on-call rotations, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Support general funeral home operations and provide exceptional customer service. Skills Needed Compassionate and family-focused approach. Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
