Compensation Range:
Apprentice pay begins at $46,000 plus overtime and bonuses; licensee pay begins at $50,000 plus overtime and bonuses
Required experience (if any):
The Licensed Funeral Director/Embalmer position does require the candidate to be licensed to practice in the state of Ohio, or the candidate must meet the criteria to maintain licensure from the state of Ohio Board of Embalmers & Funeral Directors. No experience is required, but previous experience as a funeral director or working in a funeral home is a plus.
No experience is required for a certified apprentice position.
Candidate must have a good driving record and be eligible to drive in the state of Ohio for work purposes.

Candidate must demonstrate professionalism & integrity, and must also possess excellent communication skills, and resiliency. Candidates should display attention to detail, accountability, time management, and have strong organizational skills. The candidate must also work effectively with others in a small team environment. Being comfortable working under pressure and working with deadlines is a plus. Candidate must have the capability of handling the physical aspects of the job, and must also maintain polished professional appearance
Job responsibilities:
Job responsibilities include meeting with families to conduct funeral arrangements, educate families on service options and various selections, prepare and accurately complete contracts and other authorization/consent forms, coordinate all details for funeral and memorial services, coordinate details for disposition, direct funeral services and work on service staff for any and all "day of" responsibilities, perform transfers as needed, perform embalming, attend to cosmetic work, provide basic care of deceased, wash/bathe/dress and casket deceased, and prepare deceased for final disposition; prepare facilities and automotive equipment for services, operate funeral vehicles during services and during transfers, assist with cremation procedures and transfer deceased to crematory; crematory operator license is a plus
