Colvin Funeral Home doesn’t just serve families, we serve our community. General Job Description The Funeral Director position is expected to complete all aspects of the Funeral Director. Helping family members and friends make decisions, guide, and serve the community. Our goal is to put families at ease and help them through the process. We treat clients and loved ones with respect and compassion, ensuring we maintains a good reputation. Major Duties and Responsibilities • Being compassionate and hard working • Being organized and detail orientated • Participate in on call rotation and respond in an appropriate time when called out • Complete removals • Complete embalming, dressing, and applying cosmetics • Making arrangements, ordering out funerals, and setting up for services • Conducting funerals, gravesides, and visitations • Any other asks, assignments, or reasonable request from supervisor Minor Duties and Responsibilities • Assist family request with compassion • Treat our loved ones with dignity and respect • Assist with laundry and cleaning • Some Preneed processes Funeral Director Intern position is learning all aspects of the Funeral Director. Will gain knowledge in all, but not limited to, embalming, cosmetics, arrangements, conducting funerals, preneed arrangements, cemetery assistance and knowledge, removals, and monuments. The goal is to become fully licensed and take on the role of a Licensed Funeral Director. Major Duties and Responsibilities • Being compassionate and hard working • Being organized and detail orientated • Participate in on call rotation and respond in an appropriate time when called out • Complete removals • Assist in embalming, dressing, and applying cosmetics • Assist in making arrangements, ordering out funerals, and setting up for services • Assist with conducting funerals, gravesides, and visitations • Assist with cremation services, merchandise, and handling cremated remains • Any other asks, assignments, or reasonable request from supervisor Minor Duties and Responsibilities • Assist family request with compassion • Treat our loved ones with dignity and respect • Assist with laundry and cleaning • Learn Preneed processes Qualifications Required Competed mortuary science program from an accredited program. Complete National Board Exam sections. Physical Requirements Must be able to bend, twist, kneel, and lift 100+ lbs comfortably
