Compensation Range:
The pay/benefit package is flexible and customizable depending on the applicant. This could include health/dental/vision insurance, moving fees or a housing allowance. Plus, the company covers license and continuing education fees, a cell phone allowance, and a flexible schedule shared between two directors. Salary ranges from $45-65K depending on experience and skill level. Yearly bonus potential as well.
Required experience (if any):
We are looking for a funeral director/embalmer with experience to potentially, manage the facility. (Plus we are looking for an apprentice to round out our staff.) Our directors/embalmers work with client families to arrange services, make removals and embalm. We count on our director/embalmers to exemplify our core values, providing the most professional service possible. We also encourage our director/embalmers to engage in the local community and church life when possible.
Required skills (if any):
· Experience as a Funeral Director/Embalmer (2+ years preferred)
· Valid Funeral Director/Embalmer License or the ability to reciprocate as required by the Indiana PLB.
· Lift over 75lbs. Ability to climb stairs and make at home removals.
· Must be willing to live or relocate within 15 minutes of facility.
(Apprentice position varies).
Job responsibilities:
Meets with client families for arrangements and follows through on payments for all services
· Removals and embalming plus the prep work for cremation or casket services that ensue
· Ensures all files and paperwork are timely and in accordance our procedures
· Conducts and/or assists for all types of services
· Works on-call/first call, as needed
· Orders needed merchandise, write contracts, complete necessary forms
· Post and/or write obituaries and notices on website. Proficient in Word & email platforms
· Maintains open and effective communication and accurate, up-to-date client files
· Participation in community events, groups and/or organizations
