About CCMS
Restorative Art Lab

In the Restorative Art Lab, students practice hands-on application of theories learned in lecture. Two semesters are devoted to the creation of a likeness, beginning with the skeletal and muscle structure through completion of facial feature placement, cosmetics application in restoration, and finally adorning with appropriate accessories to achieve the likeness of a person of their choosing. Restorative art lab doesn’t require artistic skill, but rather, confidence and a desire to learn the techniques necessary to develop the skills required in best serving families dealing with the loss of a loved one to trauma or disfigurement. Students do not need to be skilled in art to excel in restoration!
Distance Education students will work with practice armatures. Materials will be shipped to the remote students so that they can practice the necessary techniques and develop the requisite skills. Mastery of the requisite skills of distance students is ascertained by requiring the students to show their work by submitting photographic or video evidence, as well as by successfully completing other written work and by attaining satisfactory performance on tests.
Restorative Arts Lab Schedule
Our semester II and III restorative arts curriculum is structured to prepare students for implementation of real-life trauma and disfigurement restoration procedures. Each student works independently during their assigned weekly lab under the guidance of licensed instructors. Armatures and modeling wax are reserved for each registered student, which they will purchase on campus during the first week of semester II.
