Professional Business Attire is expected, with no visible tattoos or unprofessional piercings Good written and verbal communication skills Self-starter and team player Ability to lift 75lbs+ High school education or equivalent or relevant work experience would be a definite asset Funeral industry experience would also be a plus Previous customer service and/or sales experience would be a definite asset Must have availability to work evenings and weekends as needed Valid state issued driver’s license in good standing and acceptable driving record Be able to pass a background check Basic overall computer proficiency Demonstrated willingness to participate in growing market share through personal community involvement Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external customers, community leaders, and grieving client families Ability to empathize with client families and their guests and demonstrate tact and patience in emotionally charged situations Ability to actively respond to the requests of the client families and their guests Attention to detail and follow-through
Job responsibilities:
Provides support to the Funeral Director in Charge (FDIC), other funeral directors, and other staff for visitations and funeral services. Greets, assists, and provides support to client families and attendees during visitations or funerals Helps prepare for services by following the visitation/service checklists Assists in the clean up of visitations and services by following the post visitation/service checklists Assists patrons and passengers with entering or exiting the premises safely and getting into or out of their vehicles (especially the handicapped or elderly) at the funeral home or offsite locations. Drives vans, hearses, family cars or other vehicles during funeral processions and/or other funeral related activities Prepares, cleans, and drives funeral vehicles such as cars, vans, or hearses in funeral processions Ensures that public spaces such as chapels, restrooms, hallways, and reception/rest areas are clean and prepared prior to and following scheduled services Receives and arranges flowers or other items used for display around the funeral home or off-site locations Assists Licensee with embalming, dressing, casketing, and transporting decedents to place of service Assists in facility and home/scene removals Performs other duties related to this position or as assigned by the FDIC as necessary
