Places to Study

With such a close community of students and faculty, there will be plenty of opportunities to have fun and unwind with your peers. But remember, you’re attending CCMS to learn and develop the skills you’ll need to succeed in the funeral profession.

Everyone is different and learns in their own ways. For some students, locking themselves away in their bedroom is how they best study and complete assignments. Others may find the distractions of home to be too much and instead look for a quiet place to go to and put in a solid session of work.

Whatever the case, here are a few different places to visit if you need a quiet place to study.

Landlocked Social House

Just a short 15-minute drive from the CCMS campus, Landlocked Social House is a great place to study and socialize. Open 7 days a week this café is the perfect place to study with a group or by yourself. Landlocked Social House isn’t your typical café though. In addition to some great tasting coffee and snacks, it also offers one of the best tasting lineups of craft beer on tap in the area.

The company website boasts that it’s a space where creativity and community meet and we couldn’t agree more. If you’re looking for a calm atmosphere to spread out some books and dive into your work, Redtree is the ideal location.

CCMS Library

What list would be complete without mentioning our campus library? The library offers many services to students and alumni, including computers, printers, and a collection of books, journals, and educational videos focused on mortuary science. If you really want to prepare yourself for a career as a funeral director, the library is an outstanding resource for students in preparation for comprehensive exams and the National Board Examination.
